Hear it first hand from previous and current clients who have seen success and continue to see success through my methods and instructions.

My name is John Kukuruda, I met Caleb through a friend and he has changed my life and career immensely. Coming off an injury in my shoulder and elbow, I came to him throwing 83-87 with arm pain every single time I threw. After one single lesson my arm pain had subsided and I could throw daily with little to no pain. He changed every aspect of my mechanics. From my arm position to how my feet push off the rubber. After about 3-4 sessions I was up to 90-94 in my walk throughs and 88-90 off the mound. Then a few more lessons with Caleb I was up to 97 in my walk throughs and sitting 94-96 off the mound. I have zero arm pain and I am able to pitch every single day. I developed a big league slider and all of my other pitches became plus pitches. I recently signed with the Texas Rangers a team that released me in 2013. Caleb really knows his stuff and is a great coach/mentor.

I started working with Caleb in 2013 after high school. I was throwing about 89 to 92 mph. After about a year and a half working with Caleb I was touching 97 in games. During my bullpens I was reaching 95. Caleb taught me how to use my lower half and really use my hip shoulder separation to create more force and power through my delivery. By Caleb watching and videotaping my delivery he would show me on tape what he was talking about and make it clear on what I should be working on for my next bull pens. He gave me things to work on and focus on during my normal catch play at practices as well. Caleb is a great dude and he has taught me a lot on the mechanical side of pitching.

“I’ve been with Caleb for a little over a year I first saw him around July of 2016 after getting released from the Twins Organization. I am 6’7 and at the time I weighed around 200 lbs topping out at about 91 and everyone always told me I could throw harder but no one ever showed me how. The first thing Caleb said was I need to get bigger and use my legs more, so the first step was getting in the gym and putting on the weight while we were working on sitting lower and getting more leg drive  through my motion and getting more rotational through my core. We worked and worked and after about 6 months I had put on the weight coming in around 230lbs and after working with Caleb I went from touching 91mph  in a game to siting 89-91 in a bullpen and touching 96mph in a game this past season. I was throwing a lot harder and with less strain. This year we are looking to throw even harder I have a whole year with the new mechanics more comfortable can’t wait to see what we do this year . I just wish I would got with Caleb sooner.”

“My name is Scott Smith, a 6’ 6” right handed, D1 pitcher out of Atlanta, GA. Just over two years ago, I tore the labrum in my right shoulder and battled with the corresponding surgical repairs and 14 month rehab. During the extensive recovery process, my rehab guy referred me to Caleb Balbuena. At first, I thought he was crazy! He wanted me to travel 2500 miles to see a “pitching coach”. But, the desire to get to the next level led me to work with 95plus. Beforehand, I was averaging 80-84 mph on the bump with nonexistent off-speed pitches. Through this program, I was able to understand and comprehend the correct mechanics within a pitchers delivery. More importantly, 95plus aided in the steps of how to manipulate my body to get into the key positions within the delivery. This past fall, I didn’t throw a fastball under 90 mph, averaged 91-93, and developed some key off-speed pitches. 95plus, led by Caleb Balbuena, is the reason why I have developed into an elite collegiate pitcher on track for professional baseball.”

Caleb’s knowledge of biomechanics and how the body works has increased my velocity nearly 10 mph since I started working with him, and without his guidance I would not be at the level of competition I am at today. After Tommy John surgery he carefully guided me through the rehab process. He was one of the main factors in getting me to A D1 baseball program in the Big West and then guiding me to eventually sign with the LA Dodgers. If you are patient and work the process you will 100 percent!!!! see the benefits of his teachings.

“Working with Caleb has helped my pitching career significantly. Before working with Caleb, my mechanics were non-existent as was velocity. We worked weekly for half a year and I switched from a thrower to a pitcher. My velocity increased from the low 80’s to the upper 80’s and into the low 90’s. Caleb is able to quickly understand what is wrong and help fix it. As we worked on timing and separation, it was a direct result into my velocity increasing. Not only did he help fix me, he taught me and I learned. Caleb has worked hard with me and I have only great things to say about him and great experiences working with him.”

“Coach Caleb was my summer 2012 baseball coach, since then I have had several private pitching lessons. I have not only gained 5-6mph on my fastball but my accuracy has also improved. The knowledge Caleb has given me, I am able to recognize when during a game, what I’m doing wrong, and I’m able to self-correct. This has been huge for me as a pitcher. He has also given me lots of pointers on my pitching strategy and the sequence in which to throw my pitches. I’ve made all of these improvements while pitching close to a complete high school game with little or no soreness at all. I finished my fall school season with an ERA of 1.21 while averaging 7-8 strike outs per game.”

“When Caden started with Caleb, he struggled with his pitching and hitting mechanics. Caden had obvious flaws in his techniques and struggled to pitch more than two innings and was batting in the 7 or 8 hole in the line up. With Caleb Balbuena’s help and through Caden’s hard work, Caden has developed into a talented Major baseball player. Caden is the number one pitcher on his successful baseball team and bats either in the 3 or 4 hole in the lineup. Caleb is very knowledgeable and stresses technique and body control. Caden is able to make adjustments in the batter’s box and on the mound without instruction from coaches due to the tremendous training he has received from Caleb. Caleb Balbuena is a tremendous asset to baseball training and more importantly, Caleb is a man of integrity.”

“I have been working on hitting and pitching mechanics with Caleb for the past year or two now and have developed a lot from it. Before working with him I had a very basic/simple swing. I hit for a good average but never really hit for power. I was never really a big guy so I was satisfied with that. When I started working with Caleb, he immediately saw that I had a lot more power than what I’ve showed in the past. He saw that my hips and hands were starting to go at the same time which limited power and good contact with the ball. We started doing drills focusing on my hips starting before my hands, and quickly saw a lot more pop. Another thing he noticed was where my hands were when I would stride. I never really moved them from my stance into my stride. Certain drills focusing on the issue wasn’t needed. He just told me to have a little bit of a shoulder tilt when I would stride, and just like that the problem was fixed. Caleb has done tremendous things with me as a hitter, mentally and physically, but what he has really developed me into is a pitcher that has increased my velocity from 82 to 89 mph in just 10 months. Just like hitting, I was a pitcher with very simple mechanics. I always had good success on the mound, but the amount of strike outs this year compared to other years doesn’t even come close. The main thing Caleb changed in my mechanics was how I got down the hill. Originally I would have a short stride that didn’t really consist of my back leg doing any work. Caleb and I did numerous of things that really made me use my back leg. My stride down the hill is probably four inches longer now then what it was. This past year (summer of sophomore and junior year) I have had very many exciting opportunities. I made one of the best Missouri club teams there is, but wouldn’t have even known about the opportunity if it wasn’t for Caleb. If you are a guy that works with Caleb and wants to play baseball at the next level, Caleb is the man for the job.”

“The first time I worked with Caleb was in the spring of 2011. At the time I was fresh out of college and I was sitting around 88 with an occasional 91 mixed in, and less than impressive breaking stuff. After spending several sessions with Caleb and getting a lot of reps in between sessions, I am now sitting at 92 and hitting 95 with what scouts have called a big league curve. The fact is, Caleb mastered his own mechanics and reached the high 90’s. If you are trying to learn from somebody that never did it themselves you are wasting your time. Get with somebody who knows what they are doing. Get with Caleb.”

“Working with Caleb throughout my years of pitching has helped me extremely. Going in once a week with him has improved my game with simple adjustments that I didn’t know would help out. I went from throwing only 79mph at the beginning of my sophomore year to now throwing 85mph as a junior. The video analysis was a big help also. Studying this video day in and day out looking at what I need work on the most to improve my mechanics and making my velocity and accuracy go up.”

Wanted to give a big thanks to Caleb Balbuena for all of his technical knowledge and magic touch with the kids. He is a great asset to NC Athletes Resource, and NC Biomechanics. Lucky to have such a great resource. Great opportunity to work with one of the best instructors around.”

-Wade Morrison (Professional Pitcher)

“I have known Caleb since 2003 and have witnessed the transition from professional pitcher to professional pitching coach. I have worked in Professional Baseball with the Atlanta Braves for the past five years and I have worked with a lot of Major League and Minor League pitchers and pitching coaches. I can honestly say, Caleb is truly a student of the game and has become one of the most knowledgeable pitching instructors I have ever consulted with. He not only has an elite understanding of the biomechanical side of pitching mechanics, but an equal or greater gift for teaching how to fix the mechanical flaw so a pitcher can increase velocity, have better command and decrease the risk of injury. Caleb was invited to our Spring Training complex this spring and helped perform an evaluation on one of our pitchers and he ended up increasing his velocity by 2-3 mph and had a great year without missing a start. If you want to increase velocity, command and decrease the chances of injury, I would “HIGHLY’ recommend Caleb as the guy to help you achieve those goals!!”

“My first time working with Caleb was near the beginning of 2014. I was throwing 85-88, and occasionally hitting 91-92 but had absolutely no idea where the ball was going to end up once it was released from my hand. I couldn’t even barely play catch with someone because they spent half the time chasing after the ball that I launched over their head. I had an inconsistent arm slot, and frankly just horrible mechanics, I didn’t know how to properly throw the ball. My arm was always bothering me because I was throwing with “all arm” versus throwing using my body. It is now July of 2014 and I am throwing 96-99 consistently with good “downhill” tilt on the ball, my arm never hurts, my body is throwing the ball, I can command, and I am throwing multiple pitches with a consistent arm slot. My entire baseball career has changed because of Caleb. Just a few months ago I was a struggling college pitcher, and as of a couple weeks ago I was being scouted by 10+ baseball organizations and am now signing through free agency. Caleb is the only person I have ever been around that truly understands mechanics.”
-Brandon Poulson – Pitcher
Signed with Minnesota Twins 7/2014

I am a 6’5 225 lb left handed pitcher and not even 3 months ago I was throwing 74-78 mph. That never really changed after 3 years of playing college baseball. I started working with Caleb in May 2014 and my velocity skyrocketed in a very short amount of time. My velocity readings in my last outing were 86-90 mph and I’ve had double-digit strikeouts in 4 of my last 5 starts.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with Caleb Balbuena now for over three years. Caleb is by far the most knowledgeable pitching coach I have ever encountered. Caleb understands the physics of pitching beyond any pitching coach I have ever worked with. Beyond Caleb’s knowledge of pitching biomechanics is his ability to make positive changes in a pitchers mechanics. Every pitching coach and biomechanical specialist for that matter will tell you how difficult it is to change a pitchers mechanics. Caleb is truly a pioneer in the field of pitching mechanics due to his adept ability to manipulate the body. If you want to throw a baseball competitively I highly recommend working with Caleb Balbuena.”
